Aberlour A'bunadh Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700mL Bottle, $160.00

Aberlour a'bunadh is a single batch single malt that is sourced exclusively from the Speyside region - a'bunadh meaning 'The Origin' in Gaelic. Straight from the cask without chill-filtration and alcohol reduction, this whisky is heavy bodied and jam packed full of flavour. a'bunadh is not for the faint hearted as with each batch of a'bunadh they mature the Aberlour spirit exclusively in Spanish Oloroso Sherry Butts. The nose, is simply Christmas in a glass. Dried dates combined with heavy spices, cloves star anise and cinnamon sticks with burnt orange in the back. The feeling of black cherries with luxury dark chocolate coat the mouth with sherry and oak laced into it. Aestone Land Cask is a rich and smoky tasting whisky matured for more than 10 years in aging cellars that are further inland from the sea. The "LAND" champions the use of highland peat and is therefore rich and smoky in character. There's a lot to like here. Cragganmore 12 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700mL Bottle, $100.00

A small distillery in the largest and most famous whisky region of all in the Scottish Highlands, Cragganmore is derived from Great Rock in Gaelic. Cragganmore Distillery was founded in 1869 by John Smith, who is said to have been the most experienced distiller of his day. Before, he had been manager of Macallan, Glenlivet and leaseholder of Glenfarclas Distillery. One of the most famous and influential Scotch Whisky authors (the late Michael Jackson) described Cragganmore as having the most complex aromas of any malt. John Smith designed Cragganmore distillery around unique flat-topped stills to deliver complex flavours. It is a true designer malt.
