A challenging season in the Yarra and Yea Valleys. An almost perfect spring was followed by a hot and dry December which, surprisingly, turned in to a cool January with record rainfall. The two factors slowed down ripening allowing the Shiraz to fully ripen on the vine without any berry shrivel often associated with this variety. As a result, the wine is pure fresh fruit – fresh blackberry, mulberry and plum.
